Dystonias of the Neck: Clinico-Radiologic Correlations
نویسنده
چکیده
Since the clinical description of the four basic dystonic head/neck movements in 1953 by Hassler3 there have been no publications concerning the further differentiation of these forms of CD. Also, it has not been attempted to define muscles affected by dystonia with the help of imaging procedures. A new book called “Imaging of Movement Disorders” does not contain a single image of dystonic muscles in its eleven chapters4.

Clinico-pathologic Appraisal of Lipomatous Lesions in the Head and Neck Region; a Multicenter Nigerian Study
Lipomatous tumors originate from adipocytes, and represent the largest group of mesenchymal tumors. Lipomas are most likely under reported due to their insidious growth. About 13% of lipomas occur in the head and neck region. When they occur in the maxillofacial region, it is likely for the patients to be referred to the hospital for aesthetical reasons. In this multicenter study, data such as ...
متن کاملOsteoid Osteoma in the Neck of the Scapula; A Misleading Case
Osteoid osteoma is a benign bone tumor that when located on the base of the coracoids process of the scapula is very rare and diagnosis and treatment is often delayed because of its rarity. Almost any bone can be involved, but half of cases involve the femur or tibia. The radiologic features of osteoid osteoma are well known, but these tumors may present with unusual features and be easily misd...
متن کاملCystic presentation of Ewing's sarcoma with indolent clinico-radiologic behaviour.
Ewing's sarcoma is a high-grade malignant primary bone tumour with aggressive clinico-radiologic features. Rarely, it exhibits a benign pattern, but presentation as a solitary bone cyst in a long bone is rather unusual. The purpose of this paper is to document such a cystic presentation with relatively benign clinico-radiologic course and to review the pertinent literature. A 27-year-old male p...
متن کاملBotulinum Toxin in Secondarily Nonresponsive Patients with Spasmodic Dysphonia.
Chemodenervation with botulinum toxin (BoNT) has been effective and well tolerated for all types of dystonia for >30 years. We reviewed outcomes of our patients treated with BoNT serotype A (BoNT-A) for spasmodic dysphonia (SD) who became secondarily nonresponsive. We found that 8 of 1400 patients became nonresponsive to BoNT-A (0.57%), which is lower than the secondary nonresponse rate in othe...
